Is the bottom in?

February 25, 2008

Do we continue to move sideways? What are the catalysts that will make the market go up? The following ETFs moved up today. Homebuilders (XHB), Real Estate (IYR), Realty Majors (ICF), REIT ($DJR), Biotech (BTK), Natural Gas (XNG), Coal ($SCP), Metals and Mining (XME), Steel Producers ($STQ), India (INP), and several Ultras.

Sector Comperison

February 24, 2008

Below you will notice a new chart. The bar chart is a comparison of several sectors. Each sector displays four bars. Each bar represents one week-see key. The number at the end of the bar is the number of industries that are in play for the sector. For example, the Energy sector has 1o industries in play. In contrast not one retail industry is in play for the Discretionary sector. Thiscomparison makes sense. Consumer spending has slowed. Energy is up, you decide if it is manipulation, increase in consumption or both. Medical and Staples are considerd defensive. Materials are up because of expansion in commodities. Ok. thats all for today.
